Straughn moved up one spot to No. 6 in this week’s Class 4A Alabama Sports Writer’s Association football poll that was released today.

The Tigers defeated Geneva 48-14 last week, and will face St. James Friday night in their first region contest of the season.

In the 2010 preseason poll, Straughn sat at No. 7.

In addition, Andalusia received seven votes in the poll as well, and is still un-ranked.
