The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs fell to Providence Christian Tuesday night 3-0 at AHS.
Last weekend, Andalusia finished 1-2 at the 26th annual Amelia Rhoades Set-Off tournament in Kinston. The Lady Bulldogs’ only win was against Opp.
Tuesday night’s loss brings Andalusia’s record to 1-4, and 0-0 in Class 4A, Area 3. Andalusia’s first area game will be tonight on the road against Ashford. The junior varsity will start at 4 p.m.
AHS coach Angie Grimes said the loss was attributed to “errors.”
“There were just too many passing errors,” Grimes said. “I didn’t think they were playing to their potential.”
The Lady Bulldogs fell 19-25, 9-25, 17-25.
“We fixed our serving errors with our first game against Enterprise — we fixed that, and now we’ve gone back to passing errors, and when you can’t pass, you can’t run your offense,” Grimes said.
Andalusia’s A.C. Riley led in assists with 13, Shi’Amber Townsend contributed with 10 spikes and seven kills, Ellie Pollock had 23 passes and Erica Staley added 19.
On a brighter note, Grimes said the junior varsity team did a “good job” even though it lost to Providence Christian.
“I thought that the junior varsity team played well,” she said. “I thought they hustled, did a good job and transitioned well. Everything went well.”
