Opp volleyball coach Christie Spurlin said her team did a “good job” Saturday at the 26th annual Amelia Rhoades Set-off Tournament in Kinston despite falling in pool play to Kinston, Holy Spirit and Andalusia.
“Overall, they did a good job,” Spurlin said. “I suspect by the third game, they were tired.”
The tournament was played in a best 2-out-of-3 match contest.
The Lady Bobcats fell to Kinston 17-25, 21-25; Holy Spirit 8-25, 13-25; and Andalusia 18-25, 2-25.
Opp will face their first area opponent on the road today in Geneva in a best 3-out-of-5 match contest.
The match will start at 4 p.m., with the junior varsity team.
