Hooray! It’s Jr. Miss time

Watch out, Hollywood – 12 lovely ladies from Covington County will pull out all the talent when vying for the title of Jr. Miss beginning tonight.
Talent selections range from comedic monologues to dance to vocal performances as part of this year’s theme “Hooray for Hollywood II.”
Set for Fri., July 23, and Sat., July 24, at 7 p.m. at the Lurleen B. Wallace Community College’s Dixon Center, tickets are $10 for reserved seating and $8 for general admission. They may be purchased from any participant, Harold’s Discount Furniture or Ansley Place.
This year’s contestants are:
Anna Bay McCord
Talent: A piano presentation of “Sabre Dance” by Aram Khachturian
Parents: Lynne McCord and the late Greg McCord
Anna Bay attends Andalusia High School, and some of her honors and activities include:
• Girls State delegate
• City of Andalusia youth ambassador 2009-2011
• PowerSouth essay contest, first alternate winner
• Senior class pianist
• National Honor Society member
• Varsity cheerleader captain.
She plans to attend Troy University and later pursue a career in broadcast journalism.
Aubri Ahnna Morgan
Talent: A baton routine to “One Girl Revolution” by Superchick

Ava Louise May
Talent: Vocal performance of “Defying Gravity” from the Broadway Musical Wicked

• Trumpet soloist for graduation 2009-2010

• Being chosen for the role of “Sandy” in AHS’s musical Grease

She plans to attend Birmingham-Southern College and later hopes to pursue a career as an architect.
Devin Alane Williamson

Ellie Carmen Pollock

Emily Hayden Senn

Jamie Michelle Park

Katherine Emily Grimes

Maggie Ruth Jones
Talent: Ballet en pointe to “The Way You Make Me Feel”

Megan Michelle Pugh
