The Andalusia Police Department is looking for a Butler County man, who along with his girlfriend, allegedly stole nearly 50 prescription pills and sold them for profit.
Sgt. Ray Dixon said on July 5 and July 7, an Andalusia man reported that a total of 48 pills of prescription Lortab had been stolen from his residence during the two-day period.
“There were two separate incidents where pills were stolen,” Dixon said. “The first incident occurred on July 5. The man was able to get his prescription refilled and again had (the pills) stolen.
“An investigation of the incident determined that Ollie Ray Bush, 39, and Erica Danielle Stroud, 24, of Andalusia were both involved in the first incident and that Bush acted alone in the second incident,” he said.
“We were also able to determine that these pills were sold on the street in the Andalusia area for $6 each,” he said.
Dixon said the victim in the crime had allowed the couple to stay with him for four nights because their apartment had no electricity.
Stroud was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree theft of property and held in the county jail under a $10,000 bond.
Bush, her co-defendant, is now wanted for two counts second-degree theft of property.
“Bush was last seen in the Gantt community around Oakey Street Road,” Dixon said. “He likes wearing shorts without a shirt and is known as ‘Ray Bush.’”
Dixon further described the man as a white male, 5’10” weighing approximately 150 pounds.
Anyone with any information as to Bush’s whereabouts is asked to contact the APD at 334-222-1155.
