The Right Rev. Morris K. Thompson Jr., Bishop of Louisiana, will ordain Peggy King Scott to the Sacred Order of Priests in Christ’s One Holy and Apostolic Church today. The service of ordination will take place at Trinity Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge, La., at 10 a.m.

The Rev. Scott is a native of Andalusia, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Hugh King and the sister of Catherine Alexander and William King, all of whom reside in Andalusia. Following a career in the banking industry, Peggy moved to Toronto, Canada, in January of 2007 to pursue a master of divinity degree at Wycliffe College, an evangelical Anglican seminary that is one of five seminaries, which comprise the School of Theology at the University of Toronto.

Since completing her education requirements, Scott has been serving as an ordained Deacon at Grace Church in West Feliciana Parish, La.
