Phillies, Pirates end regular season

The Phillies capped their season with a 16-14 win over the Pirates Monday night in 9-to-10-year-old Cal Ripken action at Johnson Park.
The Phillies scored 11 runs in the first inning to help claim the two-run, double digit win.
However, the Pirates stayed close scoring five runs in the fifth inning, adding to their nine runs already on the board.
The Phillies scored two runs in the second and three runs in the fourth inning to seal the win.
In the first inning, the Phillies scored their 11 runs on two singles, one triple and 10 walks.
Jacob Barefoot, Parker Miller and Robert Carrasco scored two runs each; and Noah Kelly, Jo Jo Snider, Ethan Gobea, Connor Sowards and Colin Marcum scored one run each for the Phillies in the first inning.
The Pirates scored two runs in the first inning, one run in the second inning, four runs in the third inning and two runs in the fourth inning.
For the Pirates, Will Clark scored four runs; Lonzell Parks scored three runs; B.J. Anderson scored two runs; and Thomas Phillips, Cade Miller, Parker Kelley, Joshua Jones and Nicholas Creamer scored one run each in the game.
Leading scorers for the Phillies are Miller and Carrasco with three runs each; Barefoot, Kelly, Sowards and Marcum with two runs each; and Snider and Gobea with one run each.
