Softball teams get wins

In Babe Ruth softball action at Johnson Park Thursday night, the Eagles-Garner, Straughn-Black, Tigers and Eagles earned wins.
The Eagles-Garner beat the Kool Katz 17-10; Straughn-Black beat the Dominators 12-2; the Tigers beat the Believers 8-6; and the Eagles beat Red Level 13-2.
8-and-under girls
Eagles-Garner 17, Kool Katz 10
Hope Gunter and Bella Worley scored four runs each for the Lady Eagles to help lead their team to the win over the Kool Katz.
Gunter and Worley scored one run each in the first, second, third and fourth innings of play Thursday night.
In addition, Allie Garner scored three runs; River Baldwin and Gracie Syler scored two runs each; and Ansley Johnson and Kallie Grace Turman scored one run each for the Eagles.
The Kool Katz scored three runs in the first inning, five runs in the third inning and two runs in the fifth.
Maisy G. and Emory G. scored three runs each; Annie T. scored two runs; and Lindsey S. and D’an M. scored one run each for the Kool Katz.
10-and-under girls
Straughn-Black 12, Dominators 2
Straughn-Black scored five runs in the first inning, four runs in the second inning and three runs in the third inning in its victory over the Dominators Thursday night.
Breanna, Tessa, Callie, Caroline and Kelcey scored two runs each; and Jessica and Brittany scored one run each for the Straughn-Black.
For the Dominators, Emily and Tessa scored one run each in the first inning in the loss.
In other 10-and-under action Thursday night, the Straughn-White and 2xTreme tied at eight runs apiece.
12-and-under girls
Tigers 8, Believers 6
Kandie Messer and Carolina Fussell scored two runs each in the Lady Tigers win over the Believers Thursday night.
Messer and Fussell scored their runs in the first and third innings, respectively.
Brentley Armstrong, Santana Hamrac, Haley Hudson and Kayla Inabinette all scored one run each for the Lady Tigers.
The Believers scored four runs in the fourth inning, and two runs in the fifth to get the loss.
D. Gantt and H. Harper scored two runs each; and C. Edwards and R. Parker scored one run each for the Believers.
Eagles 13, Red Level 2
S. Martin and T. McGhee hit one three-run home run apiece in the second and third innings, respectively, to help lead the Eagles past Red Level Thursday night.
In the first inning, Martin, A. Bulger, T. McGhee and C. Godwin scored one run each to take an early 4-0 lead.
After Martin hit her home run, McGhee, K. Huckabaa and Godwin all scored on three hits.
Red Level scored two runs in the third inning on three hits.
The Eagles added three runs in the third inning to seal the win on the three-run home run by McGhee.
