3 Ripken teams win

In 9-to-10-year-old Cal Ripken action Thursday night at Johnson Park, the Red Sox City and Phillies earned regular season wins.
In other action, the Red Sox County and Cubs City ended in a 13-13 tie.
Red Sox City defeated the Reds County 22-6; and the Phillies beat the Padres 14-9.
Red Sox City 22, Reds County 6
By the fourth inning, the Red Sox City put up 15 runs in their 16-run rout over the Reds.
C. Mitchell, H. Nichols and T. Barber scored one run each in the first inning to help their team take a 3-0 lead.
The Reds cut the Red Sox City’s lead to one run, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first.
The Red Sox City added four runs in the second and eight runs in the third to end the 15-run surge.
The Reds scored two runs in the second, and two in the fourth in the loss.
After the third inning, the Red Sox added seven runs in the fourth to get the win.
Mitchell scored four runs; A. George scored three runs; H. Nichols scored four runs; D. Coursen scored two runs; T. Barber scored three runs; S. Driver scored one run; D. Ainsworth scored two runs; C. Coursen scored one run; and J. Butler scored two runs for the Red Sox City.
Phillies 14, Padres 9
The Phillies shot out to a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning in their victory over the Padres Thursday night.
Jake Barefoot scored on a single by Noah Kelly to get things started for the Phillies.
Ethan Gobea scored on an RBI from Michael Brown, JoJo Snider and Nathan Erwin scored on errors and stolen bases.
Brown then scored the last run of the inning on a stolen base.
The Phillies added three runs in the second to take an outright lead over the Padres.
The Padres scored two runs in the second, one run in the third and six runs in the fourth in the loss.
The Phillies added two runs in the third and scored four runs in the fourth for the win.
Red Sox County 13, Cubs City 13
It was a tight game from the beginning for both teams as the Red Sox County cut into the Cubs City’s 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning scoring four runs.
The Cubs City then scored four runs in the second, three in the third and one in the fourth.
The Red Sox added three runs in the second, four in the third and two runs in the fourth to end the game in a tie.
For the Red Sox, T. Reynolds scored two runs; T. Ward scored four runs; C. Matrullo scored three runs; J. Peeples scored two runs; D. Sasser scored one run; and Z. Grooms scored one run.
For the Cubs, U. Johnson scored two runs; W. Black scored one run; G. Holley scored two runs; J.W. Jones scored two runs; C. Lee scored one run; S. Hughes scored two runs; Z. Bullard scored one run; W. Hurst scored one run; and J. Walker scored one run.
