This is an open letter to all political candidates.

The Alabama Department of Transportation will begin mowing operations of the state and U.S. highways soon and I would like to inform everyone of ALDOT’s policy concerning political signs on the rights-of-ways.

Any political signs that are within the mowing limits will be removed ahead of the mowers and will be destroyed.

Any political signs that are blocking sight distance at intersections, driveways, etc. or otherwise present a traffic hazard will be removed immediately and destroyed.

Any political signs that are in any way attached to ALDOT signs or sign posts will be removed immediately and destroyed.

The candidate WILL NOT BE ALLOWED to come to the District Office and retrieve their signs as has been the practice in the≈ past.
