There was a mixture of timber and diesel fuel along the side of Ala. Hwy. 55 Monday after an 18-wheeler overshot a stop sign and overturned.

The accident occurred in River Falls shortly before 9 a.m. Eyewitness reports said the truck was traveling down the Heath/River Falls Road when it attempted – unsuccessfully – to stop at the intersection’s stop sign and overturned as the driver attempted corrective measures.

The driver sustained only minor injuries; however, emergency management officials were called to the scene to assist in the cleanup process of the diesel fuel.
