Darel Kendrick, 51, of Andalusia, was arrested Monday on charges of first-degree rape, second-degree kidnapping and second-degree domestic violence. He was placed into the Covington County Jail on a $70,000 bond.

Sgt. Tim Stallworth, the Andalusia Police Department investigator who arrested Kendrick, said details surrounding the incident could not be released at this time, but Kendrick and the female victim had a living relationship in which they shared a trailer.

“All of this took place from approximately 10 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Sunday,” Stallworth said. “Her daughter arrived at the residence at approximately 11:30 a.m. Sunday and one of the two contacted the APD.”

According to Stallworth police responded to the residence on Paul Lane at 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

“The victim was not allowed to make phone calls or leave the residence during the period of time with Kendrick,” Stallworth said. “That constituted the kidnapping portion of his charges.”
