Birdie Belcher

Birdie Bell Belcher, 96, passed away Sat., Oct. 11, 2008, in a Florala health care facility.
Funeral services were held Mon., Oct. 13, at 2 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home in Florala with the Rev. Elmer Davis and Milner Perry officiating. Interment followed in the Damascus Cemetery.
A native of Creshaw County, Bell was the daughter of the late Thomas E. Hamilton and Theenie Buckalew Hamilton and she was married to T.L. “Bill” Blecher, who passed away in 1982. She and her husband were residents of the Damascus Community where he was engaged in farming. She was a member of the Damascus Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Melba Belcher (Ray) Davis of Chelsea, Ala.; four grandchildren, Stephanie (Chris) Seay of Florala, Jason (Jennifer) Davis of Birmingham, Lauren Belcher of Daleville and Nicholas Belcher of Florala; daughter-in-law, Sue Belcher of Enterprise; two great-grandchildren, Justin Seay and Connor McDonnell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her son, Don Blecher, preceded her in death.
