Allen Watkins, Sr.

Mr. Allen Raymond Watkins Sr., 76, of Andalusia died Sat., Sept. 6, 2008, in the Andalusia hospital.
Funeral Services were held at 1 p.m., Mon., Sept. 8, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Melvin Smith and Buddy Mohon officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home. Interment followed in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.
He served in the U.S. Navy and was a Korean War veteran. He was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Andalusia.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in Dothan, Alabama.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 51 years, Betty Turner Watkins of Andalusia; sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Lee Watkins, Roswell, Ga., Tracy and Wendy Watkins, Loudon, Tenn.; grandsons, Alec and Turner Watkins of Roswell, and Evan Watkins of Loudon, Tenn.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert and Charlotte Watkins of Dothan and Danny and Francis Watkins of Luka, Miss.; sister and brother-in-law, Beulah “Becky” and Emory Tucker of Ramer, Ala.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Dr. Becky Turner of Ocean Springs, Miss.; sister-in-law, Linda Johnston of Frisco, Texas; and many special nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Allen Raymond Watkins Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Delmus Albert and Josephine Massey Watkins; brother-in-law, William “John” Johnston; father and mother-in-law, William Frank ad Mary Boswell Turner; and a Niece, Rosemary Tucker.
