On Friday, June 29, 2007, PFC Timothy S. Williamson of Highland Home, graduated U. S. Army Combat Basic Training at Ft. Jackson, S. C.
Williamson was a member of Company B 2-13th INF BAT and was an honor graduate by being selected as “Outstanding Soldier Leader of the Cycle”, where each platoon of the graduating company nominates one individual from over 800 graduates to appear before a board of cadre.
Nominees are questioned on military subjects and current events.
They are also judged on personal appearance and general knowledge.
The board then selects the one soldier who has outstanding qualities of leadership, competence and discipline and has held the position of squad leader throughout the entire training cycle.
Present for graduation ceremonies were his parents, Jerry and Marie Williamson of Highland Home, Chris and Deanna (Brown) Stinson and Lakien Corey of Greenville.
