She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education – Language Arts and a Master of Education degree in English from Auburn University at Montgomery.

Grayson taught high school English for 13 years, and in 2005, she joined the staff at Greenville Newspapers, LLC.

She is presently the managing editor of The Luverne Journal and The Lowndes Signal.

Grayson is the daughter of Emmie Lou Grayson and the late James Theo Grayson of Greenville.

She is a 1984 graduate of Greenville Academy.
