This column is for readers interested in what is happening in the lives of students on the campus of Luverne Schools.
And it is especially for the parents who ask their children, “What's going on at school today?” and their reply is, of course, “Nothing.”
We will try to cover all kinds of topics, and we welcome hearing from those “in the know” of the achievements of our students and teachers.
Recently, in January, the Luverne High Scholars Bowl Team won a district competition for small schools at Troy University.
According to Coach Anne Head, this team will go on to Regional competition on March 10th.
The team members include Jacob Sexton, Keith Hermeling, Weston McDougald, Joey Mote, Gary Dobbs, Jake Allison and Cody Smith.
Way to go, Scholars Bowl Team!
Good luck at Regionals!

The Luverne Band Boosters held their Twenty-Fourth Annual Luverne Little Miss and Miss Junior High Pageant at the auditorium on February 24, 2007.
The Master of Ceremonies was Mr. Steve Sanders.
The over-all winners in each category were Abbey Leigh Taylor, Tiny Miss; Savannah Jones, Petite Miss; Tabitha Taylor Stewart, Little Miss; Ariel King, Young Miss; and Kelsey Davis, Miss Junior High.
Entertainment at the pageant was provided by Brittney King, Chasity Faulk, Matthew Holmes, Tori Free, Rachel Tatom, Tiffany Weeks and Paige Lester.
Thanks to all who helped with the pageant and to each business that supported and sponsored the girls so graciously.
This event helps the band pay for music and uniform expenses each year.
