Burnett#039;s 25 points pace Knick past Rockets

The Greenville Parks and Rec. basketball league continued play this week before taking a week off for the Christmas break.
Here are the results of this week's games:
Senior boys
Knicks 69, Rockets 61
Jaques Burnett had a game-high 25 points Wednesday night to lead the Knicks over the Rockets, 69-61.
Shawn Cook wasn't far behind with 21 points for the Knicks while teammate Bobby Goldsmith had 13.
Antonio Jones also had eight in the win.
For the Rockets, Montrez Cannon had a team-high 17 points while teammate HaKeem Thompson had 14 points.
Rodney Fails had 11 points and Dontavious Brown had 10 in the loss.
Both the Knicks and Rockets return to action Jan. 3 at 6:30 p.m.
Bulls 84, Suns 63
James Smith and D. Scott had 25 points apiece Wednesday night to lead the Bulls over the Suns, 84-63.
Curtis Thagard was the next leading scorer for the Bulls with 13 points while teammate Jeremy Jordan had nine points and Ladarius Powell had eight.
For the Suns, Tim Dunklin, who was the game's leading scorer, had 26 points.
Antonio Lewis had 13 points, Demario Simpson had 12 and Jeremy Robinson had 10 in the loss.
Both the Bulls and Suns will return to action Jan. 3 at 6:30 p.m.
Junior boys
Heat 43, Magic 34
Patrick Burnett had a game-high 18 points Wednesday night, but it wasn't enough as the Heat toppled the Magic, 43-34.
James Herbert III was the leading scorer for the Heat with 13 points while teammate Paris McDonald had 11 points and Eric Simmons had 10.
For the Magic, Burnett was the leading scorer while Devin Mallory, Daryl Starks and Patrick Tyrell each had four points.
The Heat and the Magic will return to action Jan. 3 at 5:30 p.m. at the Dunbar gym.
Midget boys
Lakers 40, Wizards 38 (OT)
Brandon Smith had five points in overtime Tuesday night to lead the Lakers over the Wizards, 40-38.
Cavante Roberts was the leading scorer for the Lakers with 13 points while Brandon Smith had nine for the game.
Brian Smith also had six points while D'Raylen McGrew and Tedrick Williams each had four in the win.
For the Wizards, Winston Peagler had an explosive night with a game-high 24 points.
Desmond Feagin also had 10 points and Trevor Womack four in the loss.
The Lakers return to action Jan. 2 as they take on the Heat at 5:30 p.m. at the Dunbar gym. The Wizards will take on the Pistons Jan. 2 at 6:30 p.m. at the Dunbar gym.
Heat 32, Pistons 28
Julius Lymon scored 14 of his 20 points Tuesday night to lead the Heat over the Pistons, 32-28.
Also scoring for the Heat was Nicholas Roper with six points, Ja'Marcus Davison with four and DeMarcus Wilson with two.
For the Pistons, Derrick Powell was the leading scorer with 13 points while teammates Mardevans Moore, Antonio Pressley and DeVonte Riley each had four points.
Jerome Cook also had a fourth-period three-pointer for the Pistons.
The Heat return to action Jan. 2 as they take on the Lakers at 5:30 p.m. at the Dunbar gym. The Pistons will take on the Wizards Jan. 2 at 6:30 p.m.
Midget girls
Sparks 22, Storm 7
Jasmine Morris had a game-high six points Thursday night to lead the Sparks over the Storm, 22-7.
While Morris was the Sparks' leading scorer, teammates Takila Walker, Tanesha Cook and Taylor Deming each had four points.
Noelle Love and LaSandra Cook also had two points apiece in the win.
For the Storm, Tyleshia Cook was the leading scorer with five points while teammate JeQuesta Crenshaw had two points.
The Storm and Sparks will square off again Jan. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Dunbar gym.
Pee wee
Heat 20, Spurs 2
Tyrone Crenshaw had a game-high eight points Thursday night to lead the Heat over the Spurs, 20-2.
Takira Walker was the next leading scorer for the Heat with six points while Tyler Stone had four and Jaquan Lewis had two.
Alonzo Gipson scored the Spurs only two points.
The Heat will take on the Bulls Jan. 4 at 6 p.m. at the Dunbar gym while the Spurs will take on the Raptors at 6:45 p.m.
Bulls 29, Raptors 2
Kionte McGrew had a game-high 16 points Thursday night to lead the Bulls past the Raptors, 29-2.
CharDarrius Davison was the next leading scorer with six points while teammates Willie Kent and Timmy McCall each had two points.
Isaac Howard had the only two points for the Raptors.
The Bulls will return to action Jan. 4 at 6 p.m. as they take on the Heat. The Raptors will take on the Spurs Jan. 4 at 6:45 p.m.
