The Luverne Rotary Club will be sponsoring its annual Family Day to be held on Saturday, April 8 from noon until 3 p.m. at E. L. Turner Park.
There will be games, food and fun for the entire family, and everything is free.
“This day was designed to bring parents and their children together to have an enjoyable day at the park,” Steve Sanders, Luverne Rotary Club member, said.
“We want to promote families being together and having fun together.”
Food items, such as hot dogs, Pepsi, chips, snow cones and candy, will be provided for everyone.
Plus, there will be games and activities for the entire family.
The Luverne High School cheerleaders will provide free face painting, while children's games, including the Moon Walk, the giant slide and relay races, will be taking place.
Free family portraits will be taken, and arts and crafts of all kinds, such as Frisbee painting and hat painting, will be available.
The Crenshaw County Volunteer Fire Department will be on hand with its “Smokehouse,” which assimilates the safest way to get out of a building in case of a fire.
The Luverne Police Department will provide identification fingerprinting for children, and free stickers and literature will be given by the D.A.R.E. program.
Also, anyone who wishes may donate blood at the LifeSouth Blood Mobile. Donors will receive a t-shirt.
“We're also going to have horseback riding,” Sanders said.
“Plus, different church groups will provide free musical entertainment under the pavilion.”
Many door prizes will be given away all throughout the day.
The afternoon's festivities are free to the public, and everyone is invited to attend.
