The Crenshaw County Sheriff's Office recently purchased three new vehicles for its department.
Crenshaw County Sheriff Charles West purchased a navy 2005 Ford F150 Crew Cab. This new truck will be used predominantly by Chief Deputy Jimmy Lecroy.
“That vehicle was purchased with work release funds,” West said.
The second vehicle is a fully equipped 2005 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. It was purchased with funds from an ADECA Vehicle Block Grant, funds from the Crenshaw County Commission and funds from the Crenshaw County Sheriff's Office.
According to West, a third vehicle, a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, was purchased by the sheriff's office with work release funds and will be used for prisoner transport.
“We are really appreciative of the sheriff and the county commission for getting these vehicles for us,” Lecroy said. “They've been needed for a long time.”
