Florala Wildcats won Saturday

Saturday night everything was all right for the Florala Wildcats and their fans.
All three Florala High School basketball teams earned wins on Friday.
The Lady Wildcats edged past the visiting Opp Lady Bobcats for a 44-42 win to improve to 12-5 on the season.
Opp went on top early and held a 15-8 lead after one period. The Lady Bobcats were on top 26-18 at the half.
The Lady Wildcats clawed away at the Lady Bobcats' lead in the second half beginning in the third quarter.
The Lady Wildcats were within one point of Opp going into the final period trailing 30-29.
Florala outscored Opp 15-12 in the final period for the win. Opp had a chance to tie the game near the end with two free-throw attempts in the final seconds.
The first free throw was off the mark and after a time out the player seemed to miss the second attempt on purpose in hopes of getting a
rebound and a putback to tie the score.
The plan did not work with the Lady Wildcats holding on for a 44-42 win.
LaToya Wilson paced the Lady Wildcats on offense with 21 points. Liz Ferman added 11 points.
Also scoring for Florala were Cynthia Campbell, Alison Cobb and Brittney Carson.
Opp's leading scorer was Ashley Mock with 18 points. Trinity Osborn had 13 points. Sasha Musgrove had 10 points. K. Crittenden has 1 point.
The Lady Wildcats defeated Brantley 44-26 on Friday. Cobb had 17 points. Carson hit for 10 points. Wilson, Campbell and Ferman also scored.
The Florala Wildcats topped South Walton on Saturday by a final score of 59-44 to improve to 11-6 on the season.
Florala took an early lead by outscoring South Walton 13-7 in the first quarter.
The Wildcats roared to a 10-point lead by the half by a score of 29-19.
South Walton's Seahawks pecked away at the Florala lead in the third period and trailed Florala by just two points going into the fourth quarter by a score of 41-39.
Florala went on a run for a 59-44 victory. Vance Gettis paced the Wildcats with 20 points and 11 rebounds in the win.
A.J. Thompson missed a dunk at the start of the game, but ended the contest with 13 points. Victor Hobdy had 10 points. Tristan Matthews scored 9 points. Danny Wilson and Xavier Jones also scored.
Florala fell to Brantley on Friday night by a score of 78-48.
The Florala B-team Wildcats topped the B-team Seahawks by a final score of 45-19 on Saturday.
Rick Williams had 15 points for Florala. Kyle McCoy added 10 points.
Also scoring for Florala were DeAndr\u00E9 Lewis, Rodero Williams, Zo Bell and Jonathan Carnley.
All three Florala squads return to action today when the Wildcats travel to Pleasant Home for area games.
