Agrees about bad behavior
Dear Editor:
Thank you so much for your view about this situation. The behavior of some of the squads and their fans was truly appalling. I have never in my life seen such a poor display of sportsmanship. I know that each of the squads competing worked hard on their routines for this competition and to have your hard work booed off the stage and backs turned, was beyond belief.
The parents, principals and cheer coaches should be ashamed of the way their chidlren and students behaved that night!

Victim's family expresses its gratitude
Dear Editor:
To all our friends at Mizell Memorial Hospital, Opp Rescue, the Opp Police Department and the whole town of Opp,
Words cannot express how deeply we feel. Everyone here is beyond amazing. We thank you for all you have done for all of us. This institution (Mizell) is the definition of Southern hospitality.
You will all be forever in our prayers. You managed to make an unbelievable tragedy much easier to deal with. We will never forget all of the wonderful people and your unending kindness and compassion.
Thank you!
The family and friends of
Marlene Mitchell
and Max Fusci
Editor’s Note: Both Mitch-ell and Fusci of Atlanta, Ga., survived a one-vehicle accident on Nov. 3, 2003, in which there were two fatalities within the family.
