Tax exemptions cost us millions

Dear Editor:

I appreciated Roger Broxton's letter to the editor on Oct. 21, 2003. However, I would like to add a little on the subject. The Alabama State Revenue Department has given the following information to any who want it. The state income tax for those who are exempted from it is costing the state $100 million or more ( a ballpark figure) a year. Just think how many jobs could be kept working with the state where needed, with that kind of money. Of course, those politicians we have elected are receiving the exemptions, so don't expect much out of them.
