The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs sent the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers packing Thursday in high school softball action recording an 8-0 win.
AHS Assistant Coach Wayne Sasser said the Lady Bulldogs played great in the win.
"It was the best ball game we've played all year," Sasser said after the game.
The Lady Bulldogs broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the fourth inning with two runs to take a 2-0 lead.
Elizabeth Smith started the rally by drawing a walk and moved to second when Katie Howell reached on an error.
Smith scored when Lindsey Carr reached on a fielder's choice as the Lady Tigers got Howell out at second base on a force play.
Carr scored when Kayla Brown followed her in the line-up and belted an RBI-triple.
The score remained 2-0 until the bottom of the sixth inning when Andalusia scored six more runs for a comfortable 8-0 lead.
Smith once again started the rally by drawing a walk and moved to second when Carr was hit by a pitch. Brown got her second RBI-hit of the game to score Smith.
Heather Self was next to hit and reached on an error as Carr raced home for a 4-0 lead.
Brown and Self scored when Hayden Odom belted a two-RBI triple. After a strikeout and then a walk by Jodi Hanchey, Ashley Johnson hit an RBI-single to score Odom.
Johnson scored later in the inning on a pinch-hit, RBI-single by Hannah Bush.
Howell was the winning pitcher allowing no runs on six hits and no walks. She struck out three.
The Lady Bulldogs play again Saturday morning at a tournament in Geneva.
