Lady Eagles win rematch

Pleasant Home's Lady Eagles followed Friday's one-run win against the Andalusia Lady Bulldogs with a 10-run win Monday.
The Lady Eagles took the softball diamond on a mission Monday and scored three runs in the first inning.
Beth Cox reached on a walk and then left the game with an injury. Hannah Kelley came in for Cox and scored when Brittney Blount raced around the bases after blasting the ball down the right field line. Blount did not stop running until she made it all the way back to home plate for a two-run home run.
Britni Ballard followed Blount in the batting order and reached on a walk. She scored later in the inning on a bases-loaded walk.
The Lady Eagles added to their lead in the top of the second inning with six runs after holding Andalusia scoreless in the bottom of the first.
Kelley and Ballard both scored their second runs of the game in the inning. Also scoring for Pleasant Home were Amy Jacobs, Carly Lundy, Kayla Wiggins and Kati Wiggins.
In the top of the fourth inning, Pleasant Home added three runs when Blount, Amy Jacobs and Lundy each scored.
Andalusia's Lady Bulldogs scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth. Ashley Johnson reached base on a double and came around to score. Elizabeth Smith reached on an error and also scored in the inning.
The win improves Pleasant Home's record to 10-2 on the season.
The Lady Eagles return to the diamond today when they host Brantley at 4 p.m.
The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs also play today when they travel to Evergreen to take on the Hillcrest Lady Jaguars at 4 p.m.
