Bulldogs ace Northview

The Andalusia High School boys' tennis team bounced back from a loss to Houston Academy on Monday with a win against Northview on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs fell to Houston Academy 6-3 on Monday. James Barlow was one of just three Bulldogs to win a match. Barlow won the No. 1 singles match 6-4, 6-1. The other two Bulldogs to earn wins were Will Fagerstrom and Stephen Gunter.
Northview did not fare as well against the Andalusia boys.
The Bulldogs earned a 5-4 win against Northview. Ed Frye was back in the line-up for Andalusia and won the No. 1 singles match. Barlow earned a win in the No. 2 singles match. Gunter and Jason Dyer also earned wins in their respective singles matches.
In doubles action, the Bulldogs won the No. 2 doubles match with Barlow and Fagerstrom topping their opponents from Northview 10-8. The Bulldogs are now 4-1 on the season.
The Lady Bulldogs did not do as well in the last two matches falling to Houston Academy 9-0. The Lady Bulldogs won three matches against Northview, but fell by a final count of 6-3.
Meghan Weant won the No. 4 singles match and Cristen Cagle won the No. 5 singles match for Andalusia. The other win came when Weant and Leah Glisson teamed up to win the No. 2 doubles match on Tuesday.
The boys' team returns to the court on Monday when UMS-Wright visits for a match on the tennis courts at LBW Community College. Both the boys' and girls' teams will be in action Tuesday when Houston Academy comes to town. The first matches are set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
