Dixie Majors remain in hunt

The Andalusia Dixie Major baseball team is still alive in the State Tournament being played in Thomasville.
The Andalusia squad lost its first game of the postseason thanks to a triple play on Tuesday.
The Andalusia squad had loaded the bases with no outs in the seventh inning trailing Chickasaw by a score of 8-7.
Chickasaw got out of the jam to earn the win with a triple play to end the game.
Andalusia's seven runs in the game against Chickasaw came off hits by Mark Wall, Craig Phillips, Ryan Mitchell, Shane Dawsey and Gene Pickard.
Mark Wall had two doubles in the game. Phillips had a double and a single. Mitchell had a double. Dawsey and Pickard both had a single in the game.
Andalusia rallied in their next game topping Tuscumbia by a final score of 7-5. It was Andalusia's second win over Tuscumbia in the tournament.
Gene Pickard and Gary Baumgartner split the pitching duties for Andalusia in the victory.
The offense came from several players with Craig Phillips belting a home run. Will Starr and Ryan Mitchell each had two singles in the win. Mark Wall, Jay Bryant and Shane Prater had one single each in the game.
