Sanford Mayor Chris Thomasson said they have extended period in which residents can residents can indicate their interest in natural gas service through April 30.

Thomasson said that he wanted residents to know that the sign-up was for all people in the Sanford community, not just those who live in the town limits.

Sign-ups are at Town Hall.

Thomasson said those interested need to leave their name, number and address.

Southeast Alabama Gas needs to meet a certain quota to be able to service the area.

Thomasson said the more people who sign up, the better the chance of getting gas lines installed.
