Probate Judge Stacy Brooks is seeking feedback on a proposal to move the voting place at Straughn High School.

Currently, she said, voters in the Straughn community cast their votes in the school’s ag building.

“At the next Covington County Commission meeting, I will ask the commissioners to vote to move the Straughn voting place from the ag building to the Straughn High School gym lobby,” she said Tuesday. “The gym is a newer facility, has better parking, and is easier for voters to access.’
Straughn High School’s principal, as well as the Covington County Board of Education, have already agreed to the change.

Brooks has asked the county commission to approve the change, and they are expected to do so next week. Brooks said anyone with questions should call her office at 428-2510, or appear at the commission meeting set for 9 a.m. on Tues., March 14.
